Spirit Chair was designed to support you in getting a outsider’s, insider’s and YOUR view of a relationship. This relationship can be with a person, or an energy in your life. Either way, this is a WONDERFUL way to dive deeper.

Have a journal, lit candle, and your intentions ready.

1. Set up 3 chairs, or 3 places to stand. Place two of them across from each other, and the third equidistant between the two, but set back a ways (see image above).

2. Sit down in Chair #1. Look across at Chair #2 and imagine **_____ sitting there. (**The energy you are working with. It can be anything; food, sex, money, your mom, your dad, an ex). Notice what your attitude and energy towards it are.

  • What do you notice in your body?

  • What questions do you have for the one in Chair #2?

2. Then go and sit down in Chair #2, into **______’s point of view, and see yourself sitting across in Chair #1. Notice the energy coming off the person in Chair #1. What is it like?

  • What questions do you have for the person in Chair #1?

  • How do you feel about the person in Chair #1?

  • What have you been waiting to ask the person in Chair #1?

  • What is your greatest wish for the person in Chair #1?

3. Then get up and sit down in Chair #3. This is DIVINELY NEUTRAL SPIRIT. Notice the ‘you’ in Chair #1 and **_______ in Chair #2. Notice the energy between them. 

  • What do you notice about the current relationship between Chair #1 and Chair #2?

  • What is HIGHEST POTENTIAL expression of the relationship between Chair #1 and Chair #2?

4. Finally, get up and sit back down in Chair #1, but this time with any added perspectives you may have gained from the other positions. Notice if, and how, your energy and attitudes toward money may have shifted. 

If after you have completed all three positions you still do not have the relationship towards **______ that you would like, step away from the chairs and think of another context where you have the type of relationship dynamic that you would like to have with them. Allow yourself to feel what that feels like, and when the feeling is present in your body sit back down in Chair #1 and notice what it is like to look at **________ with that feeling available now.
